Pamela Allen summary
by Tilly
Pamela Allen is a well known New Zealand born author who currently lives in Sydney, Australia. Pamela Allen writes books for for young children who cannot read yet. Pamela often illustrates her own books in a quirkey way with lots of colour. She dosen't use many similies or metaphors but enjoys using alliteration and onomatopoeias in some of her books. I would reccomend her books to young children who enjoy funny stories.
Helene's Author Study On Dick King-Smith
Dick King-Smith main characters in the books I read were all animals. I like that since i'm a big animal lover. His characters usually find something out about another animal or themselves. In "Poppet" the main character Poppet was an elephant, Find out that there is no reason to be scared of mice and in "Daggie Dogfoot" Daggie (a pig) finds out that he can swim with the help of his friends.
Dick King-Smith likes to make hyperboles with allowing animals to talk in his stories. I like Dick King-Smith books because they are about animals the animals are trying to find out something they didn't know.

Author Study
An Absolutely Awesome Author Study.
Margaret Mahy is a simply fantastic author, and her books are bizarre and brilliant. All of her characters, settings and problems are different. They are all crazy and random, but perhaps that’s the connection between them all.
Margaret uses a whole heap of imagery, so it feels as though you could slip into the background and try a cake, or perhaps save the day as one of the main characters. There’s just something there, on that page, that just appeals to your senses.
All of her endings are happy, whether the hero defeats the villain, or the problem is resolved. When you read those words,
“Happily ever after” or otherwise, you get tingles up your spine.
I would recommend her work to anybody and everybody, especially young children. I rate her work 4 stars out of 5. If I had to name my favourite books, they probably wouldn’t be any of hers. Thanks for Reading.

The awesomest athor study by Cody Maxwell
He only has one major character but his characters can’t talk. His books only show you about machinery there are no problems or no similes or metaphor.
His characters are mostly rabbits they only show you what machines can do.
All of his stories end happily ever after and then the all go home and have a rest. I like his books because they teach you about all the different stuff a machine can do.
He uses a bit of onomatopoeia in his stories.
Rhys author study
I liked lynley Dodd because I loved all her books when I was young .I liked her books because always repeats “And Hairy Maclery from Donaldson dairy” in her books. Lynly is a kiwi and a free spirit. Parents think her books are good for learning about rhyming, she’s one of my favourite authors. Lynly has a series about Hairy Maiclery and she has other books about his friends.
Author Study on Margaret Mahy by Angela C. B. Garcia
Her problems are very unusual like a boy being followed by hippopotamuses, or a fire-breathing dragon living in a cave by the sea.
The settings are just occasionally realistic like a village or a moist cave.
But even for the weirdest of problems, she still has common resolutions for every problem that a character faces. She uses endings that end happily but with some annoyance to some characters.
The villains lose. The good win and everyone else is happy that everything turned out good.
I think she needs to use more tools to keep the reader engaged.
Her characters are mostly people, very common in stories but if it's not people it's mythological creatures.
Margaret Mahy's books are mostly for young children who have wild imaginations. Children who explore the world around them and working out what will happen.
Her books have a few twists towards the end which makes them very funny and exciting. Her chapter books for older children are full of suspense which adds excitement and adrenalin.
Margaret Mahy's books are exciting but if I had to pick my favorite book, I don't think it will be one of hers.

Margaret Mahy Summary
By Chelsea
Margaret Mahy’s books are different, and sometimes unrealistic. She has quite good imagery that appeals to your senses.
She doesn’t use similes or metaphors very often, which sometimes makes her storys a bit boring. But what Margaret does often use are alliteration and adjectives. She likes to describe and dress her characters in fun and quirky ways.
Her problems in the story aren’t usually major problems, and her endings aren’t always very good either.
Margaret Mahy isn’t my favourite author, but she does have some cool books. I would recommend her books for younger readers both boys and girls who have big imaginations.
